They appear surprised as if something unexpected has happened, and there is also a pencil in front of them pointing towards the date. There's no text or other objects present besides these main elements. The character seems anthropomorphic with human-like features but does not have any distinct facial expressions due to its design style which makes it difficult for me to describe emotions accurately based on this image alone.
